How does this Visa work?

Before applying for this visa, you must have applied for and been accepted to study full-time at an Australian institution. When you submit your application, you must provide proof of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Duration of stay You can stay in Australia for the duration of your study with this visa. It allows for numerous entries into Australia. Dependent family members who accompany you to Australia can normally stay for the same length of time as you, but they cannot stay after you leave.

Your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy must cover the full period of your visa. Your student visa can be granted up to the maximum duration outlined in the table below.

You must ensure that your OSHC coverage covers the whole duration of your visa, otherwise, your visa may be issued just until your OSHC policy expires.

Please keep in mind that if your student visa expires before you graduate, you can apply for a Visitor visa. You will require a document from your education provider stating your graduation date.
